SEO Cartograph On-page 0.2.0: more reliable broken links, highlighting and email report
Version 0.2.0 of the SEO Cartograph On-page Chrome extension is out. The gist: broken link detection no longer cries wolf, in-page highlighting is split into two layers, and the audit report can now be sent by email.
Broken links, reworked
“Broken” now refers only to genuinely dead links (404/410, server errors). Refused accesses (403, 406, 429…) and unreachable links are listed separately as “to check”: most often it is bot protection, not a dead link. More reliable checking: retry on network error, re-check with GET when a server rejects HEAD.
In-page highlighting
Two independent layers: “Tags on the page” (Hn structure, images without alt, nofollow) and “Show broken links in the page”. A broken link hidden in a closed menu is flagged with a badge on the panel, without breaking the layout. One-click URL copy on every link.
Email report
The full audit report can be sent to your inbox from the Diagnostic tab.
Connected account
From the Performance tab: put the page under watch (email alert on any change) and track a keyword (position checked every morning), in one click.
Reliability
React/Vue sites (internal navigation) are re-analysed on every page change; links, titles and images inside web components (Shopify…) are now counted.
International
Name and description available in English.
The full technical detail stays in the project’s CHANGELOG.md. Everything the extension does is on the SEO Cartograph page; to install it, the Chrome Web Store.
